Plan for May 5

Schedule Change

Remember, the Christ Church Sunday morning schedule adjusts just slightly this week! Services will now take place at

9 am - Worship in Sanctuary
10:05 am - Worship in Chapel, Alive! in Scout Center
11:15 am - Worship in Sanctuary

Because the first service is happening later, expect a little less transition time between services. If you attend the 9am, make sure you leave the service no later than 9:55 am to make it to your class by 10 am. Children in a classroom without two adult leaders can present some dangerous possibilities, so please be ready to greet your class on time!

Stewardship, Week 3

We continue the stewardship series this Sunday with Lesson 3 from the provided curriculum. Please let me know by Thursday if you have any questions or concerns. This curriculum gives a good foundation, but you may want to supplement with other activities or materials, and I encourage you to take that freedom!

Make sure to remind your class to use their offering boxes this week to save up for our big church project! If anyone did not get a chance to decorate boxes the past two weeks, there will still be boxes and supplies in your classroom this Sunday - please help us make sure everyone gets one and understands the basics of the capital campaign.

Thank you!

May 19 - No Alive!

As you plan, keep in mind that there will be no Alive! on May 19. Rather, our entire congregation will join together in two worship services that morning, at 9am and 11am. After each service, there will be a church-wide celebration and project. More details to come on that, but for now, simply plan to come to one of the two services!

Plan for April 28

All of Alive! was very busy this past Sunday, with music, offering box decorating and kickoff of the stewardship lessons. It looked like everything went great! Thank you for going with the flow.

Stewardship, Week 2

We continue the stewardship series this Sunday with Lesson 2 from the provided curriculum. Please let me know by Thursday if you have any questions or concerns. This curriculum gives a good foundation, but you may want to supplement with other activities or materials, and I encourage you to take that freedom!

Make sure to remind your class to use their offering boxes this week to save up for our big church project! If anyone did not get a chance to decorate boxes on the 21st, there will still be boxes and supplies in your classroom this Sunday - please help us make sure everyone gets one and understands the basics of the capital campaign.

Plan for April 21

Capital Campaign Curriculum

Beginning this Sunday, Alive! will begin a 4-week stewardship curriculum leading up to the capital campaign. The structure of these stewardship lessons is quite different from the structure of Grapple, which is why I provided the curriculum several weeks ago. I hope you've had a chance to take a look.

There will be plenty of room for you to supplement these materials during this series! This curriculum may require more planning than Grapple, simply because it is a new and completely different format. Please take the time to read it in advance and then add in any ideas or activities that you think will help this group embrace the idea of above-and-beyond stewardship.

Call, text or e-mail me by Thursday with any questions.

Decorating offering boxes

During your curriculum time, your class will be provided with capital campaign savings banks and decorations. All kids in preschool-5th grade will receive banks which they can take home and keep their capital campaign contributions in. On May 19 (commitment Sunday), kids will bring their banks to the altar along with their parents, who will bring commitment cards.

Please save time on the 21st for your class to decorate their banks! All materials will be in your classroom by Friday afternoon.

Music with Ms. Judy

Alive! will have music with Ms. Judy on April 21 as well! Please go to Room 005 at 10:10am for music. Your morning may look like:

10-10:10 - Decorate banks
10:10-10:30 - Music
10:30-11 - Stewardship lesson

It'll be a full day!

Plan for April 14

Welcome back to life after spring break! I hope that you each enjoyed time with family and a change of pace. Thank you to the wonderful leaders who held down the fort this past Sunday while I and several others were out of town!

This week, we continue to ask What Really Matters with this lesson:

I know just a few 4th & 5th graders who believe it is their duty to be the best at everything. Perhaps this is a good time to let them wrestle with that responsibility. Enjoy!

Stewardship Lessons

Beginning April 21, Alive! will begin a 4-week stewardship curriculum leading up to the capital campaign. The structure of these stewardship lessons is quite different from the structure of Grapple, so I am providing the curriculum early in case you'd like to take a look.

There will be plenty of room for you to supplement these materials during this series! This curriculum may require more planning than Grapple, simply because it is a new and completely different format. Please take the time to read it in advance and then add in any ideas or activities that you think will help this group embrace the idea of above-and-beyond stewardship.

April 21 Activity

Also on April 21, your class will be provided with capital campaign savings banks and decorations. All kids in preschool-5th grade will receive banks which they can take home and keep their capital campaign contributions in. On May 19 (commitment Sunday), kids will bring their banks to the altar along with their parents, who will bring commitment cards.

Please save time on the 21st for your class to decorate their banks!

Music with Ms. Judy

Alive! will have music with Ms. Judy on April 21 as well! Please go to Room 005 at 10:10am for music. Your morning will probably look like:

10-10:10 - Decorate banks
10:10-10:30 - Music
10:30-11 - Stewardship lesson

It'll be a full day!

What Really Matters, Session 2

Welcome back! This week, you will continue the series you started on March 24 with this lesson:

Sarah out of town

I will not be at church this Sunday, but you can contact me up until Thursday night this week with any questions. If you need assistance on Sunday morning, Janet Hagerty will be upstairs and can answer any general questions.

I hope you all had a fantastic spring break away and look forward to being back at church with you on the 14th! Blessings,

Sarah
